FAQs

Q1: What is the default IP address for the TCP430?
A1: The TCP430 EasyWeb firmware IP address, as provided by Texas Instruments, is 192.168.0.30. For your convenience, the TCP430 is shipped with this build in the flash. Just plug it into your network, ensure your network settings allow access to this IP address, ping it to verify connection, and browse to http://192.168.0.30:80.

Q2: I don't have a license to the larger IAR Baseline or Full products. How can I evaluate the TCP430 without having these products?
A2: We've provided a compiled version of the TCP430 EasyWeb firmware as a .txt file for your convenience.

Q3: How can I change the IP address without a rebuild?
A3: The easyweb.txt file contains the IP address around line 444. The relevant bytes are C0.A8.00.1E for the IP address 192.168.0.30. Change these four bytes as desired for a new IP address. For example, IP address 169.254.210.86 becomes A9.FE.D2.56.

Q4: The serial port routing jumper J3 doesn't have connections to UART1. What gives?
A4: The TCP430 appnote uses UTXD1 and URXD0 as control pins for the CS8900A. These extra pins are provided to allow hand wiring to a bit-banged port if desired, if for example you needed UART0 as an SPI port.

Q5: What is the difference between the two versions of Easyweb firmware provided by Texas Instruments?
A5: The version labeled "For IAR V2.X" has been updated to be code compatible with IAR V2.X and also incorporates some bug-fixes, speed improvements, and changes in the C style.

Q6: What TCP/IP stack is included with the TCP430?
A6: The TCP430 comes with the EasyWeb2 TCP/IP stack from Texas Instruments.

Q7: The new TCP430s have a F1611 instead of a F149. How does that affect me?
A7: All new TCP430s will now ship with F1611s. The sample code was org'ed for a F149, but the F1611 has less flash, so it needs to be reorg'ed appropriately. The downloads section contains a F1611 of the .txt to demo on the F1611 boards. The most important effects of this change are to make more RAM available for user applications and for increasing the work that can be done by the TCP/IP stack.

Update: TI has updated their firmware for the F1611 and IAR v3.x. This firmware is available from TI at:

Q8: Why does the CCE project say "unsupported"?
A8: We do not officially support Code Composer Essentials. Any questions about CCE issues must be directed at Texas Instruments.

Return Policy:
We will gladly accept returns on products as long as you notify us for an RMA number within 30-days and the items are returned in a re-saleable condition. Non-defective returned products are subject to a 20% restocking fee. Items damaged due to misuse are not returnable.

Signature Proof of Delivery Required: We require a signature for all shipments. If you wish to waive the signature requirement, please mention it in the order comments. If you choose to waive the signature you assume all responsibility for receipt of the shipment.

Restocking Fee: All non-defective returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee. Shipping charges are not refundable. Product must be unopened in original packaging and suitable for resale. Products held for over 30 days or returned without a Return Material Authorization will not be accepted. Items damaged due to customer mishandling or misuse are not returnable. Software is not returnable.

Customers outside US: Due to the high cost of sending and accepting wire transfers, any orders paid by wire will be subject to a $40 wire fee. We accept checks at no additional charge by mail in US currency, or in foreign currency at the applicable current exchange rate. Please state your payment preference in the order comments. We require payment on all international orders before shipping.

Credit cards: We accept American Express, Visa, and MasterCard. If you wish to pay using one of these credit card types, fill out the form on the confirmation email you receive after placing your order and fax it back to us. International customers paying by credit card do not incur a wire fee.
