In a word, no.
The field phone concept was intended to fill the gap between military-style weatherproof and rugged field phones on the one end, and the phone company on the other. The best application of the field phone system is between buildings and shelters. Since the system is designed to use ordinary telco phones, which themselves are not weatherproof, we didn't worry too much about making the individual components weatherproof either.
The original intention was to just screw the boards onto a wall or beam. Shane had a great idea of housing the host board and accessories in weatherproof plastic boxes. See his photos below:

The Field Phone project is your own personal telephone company! This project allows you to use normal wired telephones for communication within and between buildings and shelters, either for everyday convenience or for security in a crisis when the normal telephone system might not be available.
