A ring interface module provides ring indication at a remote phone when wired to a field phone system board via 4-wire telco wiring. Optional models of the ring interface module support different remote needs.

The first ever ring interface module was prototyped on a spare v0.1 host module PCB as the circuitry is very similar, so we'll call that one v0.0. Shane has this unit as a museum piece.

v0.1 is a formal distillation of v0.0 on its own PCB. This is the baseline ring interface module with RJ11 phone connectors, a an LED, the call switch, the buzzer, and a buzzer jumper.

Shane has two units of this design for testing, and this is the version shown in the Kickstarter video.

The only difference between this design and the production model is that the component designators have been re-orged on the production design.

I like the ability to silence the buzzer in case of a danger close scenario. Also, the buzzers can be used for morse code, again, in a danger close situation where you need to get a message to those back away from your perimeter observation post and you don't want to talk and be heard by "trespassers".
